For someone visiting Iceland for the first time, it is a good idea to spend the first 2-3 days in Reykjanes, where there is lot of things to see. We recommend that you rent a car since it is less expensive than travelling by buses or taxis. It is fairly easy for visitors to explore Iceland and even the more inexperienced driver may find it easy to drive a car in Reykjanes where the traffic is light and no trees to block the view. Three routes are suggested for field tours in the Sudurnes area, but there are many other good alternatives. The tours are shown on the map.
